How to Press Perfect DTF Transfers
Get flawless, long-lasting results by following these step-by-step pressing instructions for your DTF gang sheets.
Pressing Requirements:
Heat Press Temp: 280°F to 300°F (149°C to 157°C)
Pressure: Medium to firm
Time: 5-10 seconds
Peel Type: Hot peel
Final Press (Optional): 5 seconds with parchment paper or Teflon sheet for a soft-touch finish
Recommended Materials:
Commercial-grade heat press (not recommended for Cricut-style irons)
Parchment or Teflon sheet
Clean, lint-free garment (100% cotton, poly, or blends)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Position Transfer
Place your garment on the heat press. Align your DTF transfer film-side up, adhesive side against the fabric.
Step 2: Press Once
Set your press to 280°F. Apply medium to firm pressure for 5-10 seconds. Use a Teflon or parchment sheet if needed.
Step 3: Peel Film
Hot Peel: Wait 5 seconds, then peel gently and evenly.
Step 4: Final Press (Optional)
Repress with a Teflon or parchment sheet for 5 more seconds for a smoother finish and added durability.
Pro Tips:
Always test on a sample garment first, especially with new fabric types.
Ensure your heat press distributes even pressure across the plate.
Avoid using steam or moisture on garments before pressing.
Store your transfers in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight.
